About Pwllheli Powerboat Training Centre

Based at Pwllheli Marina on the stunning Llŷn Peninsula, Pwllheli Powerboat Training Centre is an RYA-accredited powerboat school run by Adam Stubbings. We offer a full range of courses from RYA Powerboat Level 1 and Level 2 through to the International Certificate of Competence (ICC), giving you the skills and confidence to handle a boat safely, whether you're starting out or looking to formalise your experience.

Who is our Chief Instructor?

Adam has owned and has been driving boats for pleasure and work for over 35 years and was trained by the very best. He now enjoys sharing his experience with others as an RYA Powerboat Instructor and RYA Centre owner.

Adam comes from the Professional Diving World where he holds Master Instructor and Technical Diver Instructor Trainer qualifications. Operating boats in extreme conditions is part of this World. He is also a Cave Diver and Cavern Diver Instructor where safety is paramount.

From 2009 he built a successful Financial Services business where his company manages over £600 million of clients money with a staff of 30 plus. He is still an Associate Director of this company following its sale in 2023.

Adam’s wife Katy and his two daughters, Emily and Isabel, enjoy time in Pwllheli and Abersoch where they have a chalet on The Warren. Home is just outside Ruthin, North Wales.

In Adam’s mind, the only way to do things is properly, professionally and safely.
